The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A sloppy throw-in by Freddy Fagondo in the 3rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Juniors FC's Ezequiel Barco. The throw-in from Bai Bang Xiong in the 4th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Juniors FC's Ezequiel Barco. Leonides Modestio charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonides Modestio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Papillon AC's Silvestre Roland got a free kick in the 9th minute. Bai Bang Xiong kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Porfirio came free, but Jean Van Damme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonides Modestio got free with Lázaro Colon in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Papillon AC's Zosimo Vadillo in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Juniors FC's goalie prevented a goal. Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Isias in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Wlodzimierz Lepper managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juniors FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wlodzimierz Lepper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Van Damme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jean Van Damme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Isias, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Gustavo Birila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Uriel Isias put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jean Van Damme. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Birila in the 38th minute of play. Gustavo Birila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Lázaro Colon made a huge save. In the 41st match minute, Juniors FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Urbes to maneuver through the defense. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 42nd minute of play. With a little luck, Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon got control of the ball when Leonides Modestio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jean Van Damme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Uriel Isias's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Lázaro Colon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustavo Birila went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Papillon AC's Emiliano Nardo was substituted for Freddy Fagondo. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Birila in the 62nd minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Juniors FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgilio Satordi to maneuver through the defense. Lázaro Colon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Modestio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean Van Damme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wlodzimierz Lepper, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Jean Van Damme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Porfirio's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uriel Isias in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean Van Damme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 76 minutes, Uriel Isias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juniors FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Isias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juniors FC's Prospero Furman was substituted for Daniel Loi. Juniors FC made a substitution. Severino Garikoitz replaced Nicanor Porfirio. Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco was substituted for Uriel Isias. After 79 played minutes Juniors FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Satordi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 80th minute of play forced Juniors FC's goalkeeper Lázaro Colon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Frasco hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Lázaro Colon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zosimo Vadillo in the 82nd minute of play. When Papillon AC's Zosimo Vadillo, in the 82nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Papillon AC. Lázaro Colon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Birila in the 84th minute of the match. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Birila in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Juniors FC's goalkeeper Lázaro Colon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Papillon AC were awarded a corner. Gustavo Birila went to the cornerflag to take it. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 1-1. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Gustavo Birila in Papillon AC was the one to initiate the kick off. Lázaro Colon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Birila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Jerano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 107th minute of the match, but Lázaro Colon made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Birila in the 107th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Colon saved Juniors FC from getting behind. Enrique Frasco made a great header on Juniors FC's corner, it was just that Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Prospero Furman in the 110th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean Van Damme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jean Van Damme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Frasco in the 111th minute of play. 113 minutes had been played when some careless play by Papillon AC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Enrique Frasco was slow to take the kick. During this time Juniors FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Juniors FC's Prospero Furman to fire away a dangerous shot which Jean Van Damme despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The score was still level after an even and exciting first-half in extra time. The players took a moment to grab a drink and get instructions from their managers before swapping ends.

The players looked a little tired but resolute before the second half of the overtime, where Enrique Frasco took the kick off. Kami Glik kicked well hit freekick during the 119th minute of the match. 123 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Birila came free, but Lázaro Colon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 127th minute, Medero Medina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lázaro Colon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Juniors FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
