The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Cosme Eron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Patriarca ®'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skövde AIK the free kick. After 3 played minutes El Patriarca ® got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Eron. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kevin Keegan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Nicklas Vennerlund made a huge save. Nicklas Vennerlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd match minute, El Patriarca ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Atarrabi to maneuver through the defense. Nicklas Vennerlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Karl-Erik Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luiz Eduardo Batista came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the El Patriarca ® fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Eduardo Batista couldn't finish the play. Nicklas Vennerlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicklas Vennerlund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kevin Keegan went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 45th minute, Georg Norström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georg Norström hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, El Patriarca ®'s Cosme Eron broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florencio Leoiar to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Knut Rudberg. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Chen Ao Fan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicklas Vennerlund was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Nicklas Vennerlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 67th minute of play. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Batista in the 69th minute of the match. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Batista in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in El Patriarca ®'s zone, Chen Ao Fan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicklas Vennerlund came out of the goal and Chen Ao Fan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Chen Ao Fan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Chen Ao Fan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicklas Vennerlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 minutes of play, Skövde AIK's Chen Ao Fan made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicklas Vennerlund was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89th match minute, El Patriarca ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Atarrabi to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th match minute, Skövde AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Hamrin to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Fidel Atarrabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th match minute, El Patriarca ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Atarrabi to maneuver through the defense. Nicklas Vennerlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 96th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chen Ao Fan in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicklas Vennerlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Skövde AIK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
