CD SHETTANI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodolfo Centeno in the 11th minute. Rodolfo Centeno made a great header on CD SHETTANI's corner, it was just that Club Atlético Lea Papá's Johnny Reyes managed to reach the ball for a save. Johnny Reyes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Elías Marín ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saul Luna was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 29 played minutes CD SHETTANI got a freekick which was hit by Abel Alpizar. Fabio Osorio's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Lea Papá's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Osorio helped the player get up and apologised. Club Atlético Lea Papá made a substitution. Domingo Andrews replaced Timoteo Santillán. After a rather tough play, CD SHETTANI's Fabio Osorio got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 34 minutes, Edinson Ledesma mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Lea Papá and the CD SHETTANI players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eude Padilla was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. The supporters of CD SHETTANI booed when Club Atlético Lea Papá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eude Padilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Rodolfo Centeno managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD SHETTANI's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Centeno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Reyes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 played minutes Club Atlético Lea Papá got a freekick which was hit by Edinson Ledesma. Abel Alpizar took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Reyes. Johnny Reyes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Bernie Sanabria received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Johnny Reyes came out and tried to block the shot, but Bernie Sanabria slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elías Marín to make the kick off. Saul Luna was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elías Marín showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-2 in the 54 minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, CD SHETTANI's Keilor Volio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnny Reyes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. In the 75th minute Jonny Carballo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Reyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CD SHETTANI's Adolfo Pacheco got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute, Carmelo Mojica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnny Reyes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Centeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johnny Reyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonzo Chavarria in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonny Carballo in the 85th minute of play forced Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalkeeper Johnny Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Andrews hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Johnny Reyes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alonzo Chavarria went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. In the 91st match minute, Club Atlético Lea Papá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arismendy Smith to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd match minute, Club Atlético Lea Papá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Andrews to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, Alonzo Chavarria made a precise shot to the right of Johnny Reyes. Club Atlético Lea Papá's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. If Alonzo Chavarria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
