Alisson Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Shaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alisson Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennie Shaw in the 21st minute of play. Agostinho Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alf Eldridge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agostinho Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. 25 minutes into the match, Whitwell's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Almeida came free, but Alf Eldridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juventudes Libertárias's Alisson Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Frost in the 28th minute of play. Alisson Becker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Sharples in the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to Whitwell getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Zack Woods hit a great ball. When Edson Braddock came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Juventudes Libertárias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edson Braddock couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Sharples in the 35th minute of play forced Juventudes Libertárias's goalkeeper Alisson Becker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Juventudes Libertárias getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Reinaldo Nogueira hit a great ball. Alisson Becker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Sharples in the 44th minute of the match. Gilson Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Whitwell's Jeff Frost got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edson Braddock to make the kick off. The supporters of Juventudes Libertárias booed when Whitwell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zack Woods didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Baiano in the 62nd minute of play forced Whitwell's goalkeeper Alf Eldridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juventudes Libertárias's Alisson Becker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Juventudes Libertárias from getting a goal against them. After having played for 70 minutes, Lennie Shaw managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitwell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennie Shaw was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edson Braddock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Alf Eldridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilson Meirelles scored 2-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alf Eldridge, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennie Shaw got free with Alisson Becker in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Cícero Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventudes Libertárias's protests and gave Cícero Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Cícero Koehler got a free kick in the 86th minute. Juventudes Libertárias's Alisson Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Frost in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Juventudes Libertárias booed when Whitwell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Sharples didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th match minute, Juventudes Libertárias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Koehler to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Juventudes Libertárias had won after a very even match.
