With an all-out effort, Sliema Dragons FC's João Carlos Andrade threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kim Bolas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 10 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Dantas came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Leszek Cupial reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of João Carlos Andrade. The goal made the score 2-0. Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krakaca Neto in the 20th minute of play. Mike Axisa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krakaca Neto in the 22nd minute of play. João Carlos Andrade made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Baran Erozan sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Bolas in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Andrade saved Futuros FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Kim Bolas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Andrade was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, João Carlos Andrade successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 31 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Dantas came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Axisa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkın Öğüç, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Sliema Dragons FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baran Erozan in the 39th minute. A nice corner shot did that Baran Erozan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Carlos Andrade quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Edinho de Queirós hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Krakaca Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 96thth minute of the game Dejan Cassar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futuros FC's João Carlos Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
