Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After taking down the ball on Tynemouth Wanderers's corner Ken Halliday fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcelo Gröhe quite easily take care of the ball. Trey Nevin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hudson Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Lucas in the 21st minute of play forced Tynemouth Wanderers's goalkeeper Trey Nevin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tynemouth Wanderers's Ken Halliday got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Tynemouth Wanderers defense, Hudson Toscano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trey Nevin. Trey Nevin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Edgard Bertassi might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trey Nevin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgard Bertassi ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd match minute, Tynemouth Wanderers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christopher Hedley to maneuver through the defense. Tynemouth Wanderers's attentive Gaz Denham managed to snatch the ball when Hudson Toscano made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Cristian Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tynemouth Wanderers's Ken Halliday couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 51st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independente FC. 54 minutes into the game, Gaz Denham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tynemouth Wanderers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independente FC the free kick. In the 54th match minute, Tynemouth Wanderers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaz Denham to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Independente FC's Trey Nevin threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adriano Tande, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Trey Nevin made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Nilson Duarte sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Adriano Tande ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trey Nevin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 67th minute Adriano Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trey Nevin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trey Nevin having to interfere. Tynemouth Wanderers's Silvester Henry was substituted for Johnnie Blunt. Tynemouth Wanderers's John-Paul Amos was substituted for Darryl Cummings. Independente FC were furious when Cristian Baiano was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 78 minutes into the game, one of Independente FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Tynemouth Wanderers a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pat Chalk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Independente FC's Marcelo Gröhe. 1-5. Tynemouth Wanderers's Trey Nevin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Lucas in the 90th minute of play. Fernando Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trey Nevin having to interfere.
