Wiliam de Souza was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Jiang Yang Yuan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tao Yu Qing firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ralf Szüczs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edu Carvalho to make the kick off.
