The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Fire Devils's Olaf Geiger got control of the ball when Horea Boian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olaf Geiger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horea Boian in the 5th minute. A.C. Patagonia's Amerigo Ianni managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Yuri Vilaverde in the 12 minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, A.C. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Arne Bengtsson came free, but Nils Støle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zlatko Ibrahimović struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Nils Støle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fire Devils. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amerigo Ianni during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to A.C. Patagonia getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Amerigo Ianni hit a great ball. When A.C. Patagonia's Dariusz Wos in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fire Devils's goalie prevented a goal. Olaf Geiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dariusz Wos in the 27th minute of the match. Horea Boian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Olaf Geiger made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dariusz Wos in the 30th minute of play forced Fire Devils's goalkeeper Olaf Geiger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils Støle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iosif Vornic in the 31st minute of the match. If Zlatko Ibrahimović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 35th minute Zlatko Ibrahimović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils Støle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horea Boian came free with the goalkeeper in the 39th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olaf Geiger could save by the left post. Fire Devils's Olaf Geiger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dariusz Wos in the 40th minute of play. A hard shot 44 in the game by Horea Boian from a close distance when the talented Olaf Geiger managed to make a qualified save. Fire Devils's players were relieved. After 46 played minutes A.C. Patagonia got a freekick which was hit by Camillo Terrasi. Bel Panino kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Nils Støle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Giger in the 48th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horea Boian made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dariusz Wos in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olaf Geiger saved Fire Devils from getting behind. Dariusz Wos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olaf Geiger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Dariusz Wos took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olaf Geiger. Olaf Geiger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A.C. Patagonia made a substitution. Ludwig Wassenius replaced Horea Boian. In the 66th minute Dariusz Wos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Geiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.C. Patagonia's Aldo Di Carlo was substituted for Dariusz Wos. Fire Devils made a substitution. Robin Andermatt replaced Garson Pfäffli. Fire Devils's Olaf Geiger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Di Carlo in the 72nd minute of play. Olaf Geiger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Di Carlo in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute Szymon Jaszyna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Geiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fire Devils's Diego Aloisia was substituted for Olof Palm. After 90 played minutes A.C. Patagonia got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Di Carlo. After having played for 91 minutes, Edmílson Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fire Devils's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmílson Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Fire Devils's Iosif Vornic got a free kick in the 93rd minute. A collision led to Fire Devils getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Yuri Vilaverde hit a great ball. After 96 minutes of play, A.C. Patagonia's Aldo Di Carlo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olaf Geiger was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fire Devils's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
