Marcus Rashford took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisito Quinten. Luisito Quinten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 27th minute, Boleslaw Zielinski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernt Ånger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 32 minutes into the game, Boleslaw Zielinski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Bernt Ånger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Boleslaw Zielinski sped through VERDOLAGA CITY FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernt Ånger. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oriche Isazi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernt Ånger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boleslaw Zielinski's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Bernt Ånger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boleslaw Zielinski in the 46th minute of play.

Lyons's Paulo Illan was substituted for Aurelio Vasco. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oriche Isazi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luisito Quinten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xande Cavani in the 53rd minute of play. Paulo Illan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Bernt Ånger made a huge save. Cesar Remigio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute Xande Cavani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lyons's zone, Oriche Isazi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisito Quinten came out of the goal and Oriche Isazi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joshua Arbi made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by VERDOLAGA CITY FC's Xande Cavani. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xande Cavani in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisito Quinten saved Lyons from getting behind. In the 73rd minute Oriche Isazi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VERDOLAGA CITY FC's Oriche Isazi got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Lyons defense, Oriche Isazi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisito Quinten. The Lyons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisito Quinten should have stopped the shot.
