Wilfredo Quinto ran back to his position shaking his head. Leopoldo Lastur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Nascimento in the 20th minute of play. Nicolas Bizi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Nova Venécia-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Quinto came free, but Mauro Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ace Spade in the 26th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Leopoldo Lastur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas Bizi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. In the 38th minute of the match, Natã Quintal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leopoldo Lastur was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur got control of the ball when Leonel Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Leones FC defense, Natã Quintal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leopoldo Lastur. The Leones FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leopoldo Lastur should have stopped the shot. Nova Venécia-ES walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
