Mané Barreto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 16 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Silveira came free, but 柯誉海 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 43 in the game by Albin Anundsson from a close distance when the talented 柯誉海 managed to make a qualified save. Flamengo's players were relieved. In the 47th minute Albin Anundsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 柯誉海 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The E. C. Flamengo Paraibano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Flamengo were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hans Smefeldt to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernardinho Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Mané Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Smefeldt in the 83rd minute of the match. Hans Smefeldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute Hans Smefeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Vivaldo Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mané Barreto acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Keith Ripley. Albin Anundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Flamengo played a much better game than E. C. Flamengo Paraibano and deserved their victory. The E. C. Flamengo Paraibano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
