After a defensive mix-up in Welkershausen FSV's zone, Carl Barat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leander Schachow came out of the goal and Carl Barat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 5 minutes, Jay Flintoff made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Welkershausen FSV's Leander Schachow tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 7 minutes, Carl Barat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Milan and the Welkershausen FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Carl Barat. After some careless play in the AC Milan defense, Pitt Gross kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilmar Brasil. The AC Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilmar Brasil should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Welkershausen FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Barat came free, but Leander Schachow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Welkershausen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Pitt Gross. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esau Preuße got free with Nilmar Brasil in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Piet Notz struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Nilmar Brasil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welkershausen FSV. Carl Barat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leander Schachow having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goalkeeper Nilmar Brasil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Esau Preuße. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Pat Owen got a free kick in the 44th minute. Esau Preuße fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Brasil having to interfere. AC Milan's Nilmar Brasil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save AC Milan from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carl Barat made a kick off. Edward Willmott kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Donny Stockton got a free kick in the 54th minute. Ryan Harding hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Esau Preuße came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Welkershausen FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esau Preuße couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Esau Preuße managed to get in a good position for a shot. Welkershausen FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Esau Preuße was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilmar Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nilmar Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piet Notz in the 69th minute of play. Esau Preuße fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Brasil having to interfere. Nilmar Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esau Preuße, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pitt Gross blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilmar Brasil having to make a save. AC Milan's Nilmar Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esau Preuße in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Piet Notz came free, but Nilmar Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Kasey Griggs. Pitt Gross scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilmar Brasil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 86 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Toby Busby. Pitt Gross fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Brasil having to interfere. Nilmar Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esau Preuße in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute Pitt Gross shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilmar Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
