The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abelardo Zubizarreta made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Tao Shi Fan sent off a good shot on target. Pong Kula blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simon Ekman having to make a save. Mariusz Prusinowski kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When Pong Kula came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Atlético Letal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pong Kula couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nordic Union's goalkeeper Simon Ekman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Baycan Işıldar hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Simon Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pong Kula in the 17th minute of play. Atlético Letal's Abelardo Zubizarreta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Söderquist in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute Ivar Billock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Zubizarreta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Nordic Union fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Nordic Union's Ivar Billock looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Abelardo Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Söderquist in the 29th minute of the match. Ivar Billock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Zubizarreta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Pong Kula notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Nordic Union's Simon Ekman. Simon Ekman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chicão de Queiroz hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Atlético Letal made a substitution. Pedro Silveira replaced Dráusio de Queirós. Atlético Letal's Tomás Goren was substituted for Pong Kula. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Goren to strike the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Zubizarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Söderquist in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tao Shi Fan in the 74th minute of play forced Atlético Letal's goalkeeper Abelardo Zubizarreta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Fredrik Söderquist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Zubizarreta. Atlético Letal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fredrik Söderquist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Nordic Union's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
