Christopher Reimann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adib Ovi went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Mihály Horváth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasko Zagorchev in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Borussia Dortmund got a corner. Eregli SK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 卓阳阳 ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Eregli SK's goalie and right to Wilson Ramalho. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Eregli SK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Mihály Horváth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vasko Zagorchev went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Vasko Zagorchev in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mihály Horváth, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Juan Antonio Bertrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julien Steuble during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Julien Steuble hit a great ball. Juan Antonio Bertrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mihály Horváth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 38 in the game by Vasko Zagorchev from a close distance when the talented Mihály Horváth managed to make a qualified save. Borussia Dortmund's players were relieved. If Adib Ovi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adib Ovi in the 42nd minute of play forced Eregli SK's goalkeeper Christopher Reimann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund's Mihály Horváth got control of the ball when Vasko Zagorchev tried to sneak it across the goal line.
Borussia Dortmund's Olaf Cebula was substituted for Fabinho Tinoco. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vasko Zagorchev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Vasko Zagorchev came free, but Mihály Horváth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Vasko Zagorchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Horváth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slawomir Cisek struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Mihály Horváth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eregli SK. In the 59th minute Vasko Zagorchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Horváth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihály Horváth came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Eregli SK's Vasko Zagorchev. But to his dismay, Vasko Zagorchev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Vasko Zagorchev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Antonio Bertrand in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihály Horváth saved Borussia Dortmund from getting behind. In the 77thth minute of the game Vasko Zagorchev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Dortmund's Mihály Horváth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Vasko Zagorchev came free, but Mihály Horváth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasko Zagorchev in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihály Horváth saved Borussia Dortmund from getting behind. Peiter Mora's late challenge caught a Borussia Dortmund's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peiter Mora helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes Eregli SK got a freekick which was hit by Peiter Mora. Mihály Horváth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasko Zagorchev's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. After 88 minutes, Chris Lo Russo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia Dortmund and the Eregli SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Chris Lo Russo got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Slawomir Cisek shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihály Horváth showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 90th minute Vasko Zagorchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Horváth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihály Horváth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Antonio Bertrand in the 93rd minute of the match. Juan Antonio Bertrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Horváth having to interfere.
The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Eregli SK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Borussia Dortmund had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
