Mateo Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Daniel San tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Atlético Argentino's Qi Cheng Zhen threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dionisio Bonifaco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Daniel San made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Cristofol in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Albano Ruisko got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Dionisio Bonifaco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Dionisio Bonifaco came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Atlético Argentino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Bonifaco couldn't finish the play. Dionisio Bonifaco in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Qi Cheng Zhen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 47 minutes San Lorenzo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teobaldo Quintyn who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Atlético Argentino's corner Candido Lauro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Qi Cheng Zhen quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half San Lorenzo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dionisio Bonifaco to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Dionisio Bonifaco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Qi Cheng Zhen. San Lorenzo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dionisio Bonifaco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 56th match minute, Atlético Argentino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dionisio Bonifaco to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute Cleto Cristofol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel San saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Mateo Barbosa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 92 minutes into the match, Atlético Argentino's goalkeeper Daniel San had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aureliano Artal. 93 minutes into the game, David Mattin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Argentino's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Lorenzo the free kick. A collision led to Atlético Argentino getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. David Mattin hit a great ball. Daniel San took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Cristofol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Lorenzo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
