After 7 played minutes SC Angrense got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Macena. 10 minutes into the match, SC Angrense's Aristides Cavaco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Claeys narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Álvaro Vilaça's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Antonio Claeys firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Vilaça in the 15th minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Antonio Claeys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Armand Owerckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Ouagadougou National booed when SC Angrense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Curado didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Angrense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ouagadougou National the free kick. Tzeko Kotlarski hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Álvaro Vilaça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Claeys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Lage hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Monsanto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pieter-Jan Rummens to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Tzeko Kotlarski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antonio Claeys showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Antonio Claeys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Leme in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Manuel Leme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Claeys was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Antonio Claeys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Vilaça, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Monsanto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the match, SC Angrense's goalkeeper Sebastião Monsanto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pieter-Jan Rummens. A collision led to SC Angrense getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Álvaro Vilaça hit a great ball. Antonio Claeys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Vilaça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Geeraerts to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Claeys came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by SC Angrense's Aristides Cavaco. But to his dismay, Aristides Cavaco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to SC Angrense getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Caetano Curado hit a great ball. If Manuel Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Angrense fully deserved thier win.
