Spectators: 7471 (Terracing: 5604, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) The audience thought a goal was coming when Pieter-Jan Rummens got free with Silviu Lung in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Ouagadougou National's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Armand Owerckx in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Horaţiu Corduneanu got a free kick in the 12th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Pieter-Jan Rummens managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ouagadougou National's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieter-Jan Rummens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silviu Lung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pieter-Jan Rummens kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 19th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Pieter-Jan Rummens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Pieter-Jan Rummens came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the FC Ouagadougou National fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pieter-Jan Rummens couldn't finish the play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pieter-Jan Rummens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stiinta-Univ.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter-Jan Rummens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After some careless play in the Stiinta-Univ. defense, Pieter-Jan Rummens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silviu Lung. The Stiinta-Univ. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silviu Lung should have stopped the shot. Horaţiu Corduneanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Claeys having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Anthony De Mijer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stiinta-Univ. reached it. 90 minutes into the game, Karl Roeckeloos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ouagadougou National's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stiinta-Univ. the free kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC Ouagadougou National could leave the field as winners, despite Stiinta-Univ. having more of the ball for most of the match.
