Bohuš Dačev started the match with the kick off. Pavol Chmelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitoldas Kuliešius, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. If Vaclovas Jacinaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugen Zedník kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Eduardas Girčius, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Adam Husák was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC DNV Bratiskava's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Savage Hippo the free kick. The supporters of Savage Hippo booed when FC DNV Bratiskava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Husák didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Vitoldas Kuliešius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Savage Hippo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitoldas Kuliešius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th match minute, FC DNV Bratiskava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislav Haluška to maneuver through the defense. If Vaclovas Jacinaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramūnas Bulota kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Vytaras Liaudanskas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Vaclovas Jacinaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dangiras Rutkus struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Pavol Chmelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savage Hippo. After a rather tough play, FC DNV Bratiskava's Marek Havran got a free kick in the 38th minute. During the 40th minute of the match Adam Husák completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Adam Husák a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a defensive mix-up in Savage Hippo's zone, Stanislav Božok stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Naglis Jonušas came out of the goal and Stanislav Božok tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After taking down the ball on Savage Hippo's corner Dangiras Rutkus fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pavol Chmelo quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Savage Hippo booed when FC DNV Bratiskava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanislav Božok didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Vitoldas Kuliešius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savage Hippo's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitoldas Kuliešius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavol Chmelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pavol Chmelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vaclovas Jacinaitis in the 60th minute. Pavol Chmelo made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Vitoldas Kuliešius sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Savage Hippo's Ramūnas Bulota got a free kick in the 65th minute. FC DNV Bratiskava's Ladislav Gogoľ quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ramūnas Bulota, made in the 67th minute of the game. After 68 minutes, Bohuš Dačev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC DNV Bratiskava and the Savage Hippo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes FC DNV Bratiskava got a freekick which was hit by Bohuš Dačev. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dangiras Rutkus got free with Pavol Chmelo in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vaclovas Jacinaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, FC DNV Bratiskava's goalkeeper Pavol Chmelo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitoldas Kuliešius. Gustáv Kubičko hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Eduardas Girčius struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Pavol Chmelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savage Hippo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitoldas Kuliešius in the 81st minute of play forced FC DNV Bratiskava's goalkeeper Pavol Chmelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaclovas Jacinaitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Savage Hippo's Vitoldas Kuliešius got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Stanislav Božok got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Savage Hippo were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
