El Retorno de Palermo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 12 minutes into the game, Mihăiţă Gheție was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dark Prophets's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Retorno de Palermo the free kick. The supporters of El Retorno de Palermo booed when Dark Prophets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Gheție didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florencio Patrido in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robert Şuteu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alin Curteanu hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. A hard shot 17 in the game by Florencio Patrido from a close distance when the talented Robert Şuteu managed to make a qualified save. Dark Prophets's players were relieved. El Retorno de Palermo's Hilario Mikeldi got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alberto Walme's late challenge caught a Dark Prophets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Walme helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Alberto Walme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 played minutes, Dark Prophets's Dorel Cernescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Modesto Olentzaro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dark Prophets reached it. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Hilario Mikeldi sped through Dark Prophets's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robert Şuteu. 39 minutes into the match, Hilario Mikeldi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Robert Şuteu, 2-0. Florencio Patrido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Şuteu having to interfere. If Hilario Mikeldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alin Curteanu to make the kick off. Hilario Mikeldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Robert Şuteu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergiu Moți hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Dark Prophets's Robert Şuteu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Patrido in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Hilario Mikeldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Şuteu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florencio Patrido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Şuteu having to interfere. After some careless play in the Dark Prophets defense, Hilario Mikeldi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robert Şuteu. The Dark Prophets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robert Şuteu should have stopped the shot. In the 77th minute, Alberto Walme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Şuteu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Patrido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Dark Prophets's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Patrido came free, but Robert Şuteu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's Natalio Nabar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robert Şuteu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. El Retorno de Palermo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
