Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Winksele 2016's Jozef Hemeleers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Winksele 2016 from getting a goal against them. Minko Búrnev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Jozef Hemeleers made a huge save. Winksele 2016's Jozef Hemeleers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Minko Búrnev in the 16th minute of play. After 19 played minutes SPARROWS got a freekick which was hit by Nacho Zegov. Jozef Hemeleers made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Yanislav Plachkov sent off a good shot on target. Winksele 2016 were furious when Anthoon Jannes was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Winksele 2016's Anthoon Jannes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Dyllan Wery scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genko Dankin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jozef Hemeleers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nacho Zegov in the 29th minute of the match. Jozef Hemeleers made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Yanislav Plachkov sent off a good shot on target. Robert Mesmaekers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Eekhout kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A long shot from Nacho Zegov in the 42nd minute of play was well struck, but Jozef Hemeleers made a really good save at the right post. 44 minutes into the match, Winksele 2016's goal looked a bit too open when Nacho Zegov came free, but Jozef Hemeleers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Jozef Hemeleers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valentin Gebrev. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

SPARROWS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Winksele 2016 the free kick.
