An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Arruda in the 14th minute of play forced Curiphila Eagles's goalkeeper Percy Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Gerber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Almir Miranda made a huge save. Dito Martins hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Curiphila Eagles's Nico Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Almir Miranda narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
