Gigi Buffon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anfilogino Chiola went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 34th minute Beppe Zoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felice Tozzi in the 36th minute of play forced Ajax's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Vaiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Toninelli in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Wieslaw Cerocki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anfilogino Chiola took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigi Buffon. Gigi Buffon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wieslaw Cerocki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With 56 minutes on the clock, Mateusz Biegun commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anfilogino Chiola got free with Gigi Buffon in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. But to his dismay, Wieslaw Cerocki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 71st minute of the match Ajax got a corner. Sorci Viola's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomasz Sierocki ran over to the corner to take the kick. Amerigo Toninelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Gigi Buffon made a huge save. With his leg Gigi Buffon managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Sorci Viola's Anfilogino Chiola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute Felice Tozzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wieslaw Cerocki might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cesare Simone. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wieslaw Cerocki ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, Ajax's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anfilogino Chiola. When Sorci Viola's Anfilogino Chiola in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ajax's goalie prevented a goal. In the 84th minute Beppe Zoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wieslaw Cerocki struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Cesare Simone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajax. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anfilogino Chiola got free with Gigi Buffon in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gigi Buffon was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Anfilogino Chiola capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anfilogino Chiola really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Anfilogino Chiola's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Gigi Buffon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sorci Viola played a much better game than Ajax and deserved their victory. The Ajax players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
