The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Sportivo Desamparados:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Esquirla FC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Esquirla FC's Wes Goons got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gianluca Augusto. A collision led to Sportivo Desamparados getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alonzo Rito hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Binjamin Elsens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurent Grauwen got free with Gianluca Augusto in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Henrik Styles kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Thiago Caniggia charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sportivo Desamparados's Gianluca Augusto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Binjamin Elsens in the 89th minute of play. If Thiago Caniggia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
