He walked away shaking his head. Karl Österberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betadur Medel in the 10th minute of the match. TAQUARI FC's Karl Österberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betadur Medel in the 13th minute of play. Montevideo City Torque's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Santos Poves in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute Rodrigo Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Österberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Montevideo City Torque was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betadur Medel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo França in the 25th minute of play forced Montevideo City Torque's goalkeeper Otoniel Bonet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Paulo França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the game, TAQUARI FC's Luís Paulo França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otoniel Bonet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Karl Österberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Alvarez in the 41st minute of the match. Váldson da Silveira's late challenge caught a Montevideo City Torque's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Váldson da Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. 47 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Karl Österberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodrigo Alvarez. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Paulo França to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Alvarez came free, but Karl Österberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arias Castañares charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Luís Paulo França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Durvalino de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TAQUARI FC's protests and gave Durvalino de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes TAQUARI FC got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino de Amaral. The Montevideo City Torque manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing TAQUARI FC to win.
