VB-Team's Osvaldo Vilaverde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vencho Hristoskov in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of VB-Team booed when DOROSTOL Ss was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zhan Banovski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yanko Karaivanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Jaime Corte-Real had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes DOROSTOL Ss got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Suvandzhiev. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Saraiva in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanko Karaivanov saved DOROSTOL Ss from getting behind. After taking down the ball on VB-Team's corner Durval Póvoas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yanko Karaivanov quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dencho Yugov in the 47th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Osvaldo Vilaverde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Vencho Hristoskov made the kick off in the second half. Nuno Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanko Karaivanov having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Kostadin Desov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yanko Karaivanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Caeiro in the 60th minute of play. When Ivo Suvandzhiev came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the DOROSTOL Ss fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Suvandzhiev couldn't finish the play. VB-Team made a substitution. Isidro Matos replaced Humberto Castro. After 67 minutes of play, VB-Team's Luís Caeiro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yanko Karaivanov was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, DOROSTOL Ss's Kostadin Desov got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute DOROSTOL Ss were awarded a corner. Vencho Hristoskov went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Zhan Banovski managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Kostadin Desov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Osvaldo Vilaverde came out and tried to block the shot, but Kostadin Desov slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Nuno Saraiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Yanko Karaivanov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Saraiva in the 83rd minute of play forced DOROSTOL Ss's goalkeeper Yanko Karaivanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in VB-Team's zone, Kostadin Desov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Vilaverde came out of the goal and Kostadin Desov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute Isidro Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanko Karaivanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yanko Karaivanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Corte-Real in the 87th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the DOROSTOL Ss players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VB-Team.
