He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lalo Blanquel in the 15th minute of play forced Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Markku Ruhanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theobald Secanell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juhapekka Eloranta in the 23rd minute of play. The Variante Delta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theobald Secanell should have stopped the shot. Theobald Secanell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimi Lindström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 43 minutes of play, Liverpool FC's Aku Rissanen made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Theobald Secanell was left in no man's land by his defense there! 48 minutes into the match, Variante Delta's goal looked a bit too open when Aku Rissanen came free, but Theobald Secanell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Rivera to make the kick off. Theobald Secanell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Markku Ruhanen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lander Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If Aku Rissanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th minute Lander Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markku Ruhanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theobald Secanell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimi Lindström in the 81st minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Paul Vauhkonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 87 minutes, Emiliano Rivera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Variante Delta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Rivera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute Lander Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markku Ruhanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimi Lindström got free with Theobald Secanell in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lander Valladares in the 92nd minute of play forced Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Markku Ruhanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markku Ruhanen came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Variante Delta's Lander Valladares. But to his dismay, Lander Valladares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Liverpool FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
