Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Manuel Porto got the match started through his kick off. Mario Gellel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fredy Montero in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Manduca in the 13th minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes of play, Attard Gunners's Gilbert Manduca made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Trubin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sporting Clube de Gaya made a substitution. Roque Euloxu replaced Paulo-Henrique Ganso. António Trubin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Manduca in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Thomas Zrinzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Trubin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Gellel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Manuel Porto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mario Gellel. Mario Gellel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredy Montero in the 39th minute of play forced Attard Gunners's goalkeeper Mario Gellel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mario Gellel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Lisboa in the 40th minute of play. Horácio Pedroso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. Sporting Clube de Gaya:s António Trubin showed great skill when he stopped Gilbert Manduca:s penalty. 50 minutes into the match, Gilbert Manduca notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin. António Trubin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Manuel Porto put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mario Gellel. António Trubin made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Thomas Zrinzo sent off a good shot on target. The Sporting Clube de Gaya fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Manuel Porto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mario Gellel. Attard Gunners's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Attard Gunners's Josh Triganza got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute of the match Manuel Porto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mario Gellel skillfully saved the ball. In the 77th minute of the match, Jeremy Bonello tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but António Trubin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 77th match minute, Attard Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Debono to maneuver through the defense. Mario Gellel came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube de Gaya's Manuel Porto. But to his dismay, Manuel Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting a goal against them. Mario Gellel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fredy Montero's shot from short distance in the 95th minute.
