Olivedos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goal looked a bit too open when Ari Holcomb came free, but Patrick Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trenton Call took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaká Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Black Knights FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by George Cao Xiao in the 36th minute. It was a well-played corner which Brendan Otto managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The crowd rose to their feet as Olivedos's Kaká Passos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Trenton Call. That made the score 1-3 after 45 minutes of play. After the first half Black Knights FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dário Viana was the one to do the kick off.
