Florentin Gougeon struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Marcel Șeitan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valencia C.F.. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC ANC's goalkeeper Marcel Șeitan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Florentin Gougeon put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcel Șeitan. After a rather tough play, FC ANC's Nechifor Leluțiu got a free kick in the 19th minute. FC ANC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florentin Gougeon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 32nd minute, Florentin Gougeon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcel Șeitan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leontin Zărnescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Florentin Gougeon made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcel Șeitan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcel Șeitan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jude Farmer went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 48th minute, Florentin Gougeon made a precise shot to the right of Marcel Șeitan. FC ANC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Radu Bodnar to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC ANC booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Florentin Gougeon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valencia C.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Florentin Gougeon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Șeitan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santiago Cañizares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Cobâlcescu in the 64th minute of play. Florentin Gougeon did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-14 to the left of a surprised Marcel Șeitan 94 minutes into the match. If Florentin Gougeon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
