When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Antonio Gombal put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fernandão Penha. Edu Atila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Gombal in the 63rd minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Fernandão Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Bizi ran back to his position shaking his head. The 1984 Castelli Futbol players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
