Ernesto Formaggio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víktor Castro in the 4th minute of the match. Ernesto Formaggio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Schuster's Ernesto Formaggio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Castro in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Veloso in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Formaggio saved Schuster from getting behind. After 10 played minutes Schuster got a freekick which was hit by Veronica Ciccone. 11 minutes into the match, Schuster's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano Ribeiro came free, but Ernesto Formaggio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Castro in the 12th minute of play forced Schuster's goalkeeper Ernesto Formaggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13thth minute of the game Dorival Veloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Schuster's Ernesto Formaggio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Schuster's Ernesto Formaggio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Castro in the 17th minute of play. 17 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when S.E. Cachoeirinha's Víktor Castro fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Garcia in the 23rd minute of play forced Schuster's goalkeeper Ernesto Formaggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Schuster were furious when Cristoforo Andreola was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Schuster! Alex Di Nunzio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Betão de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Alex Di Nunzio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Betão de Amaral. That made the score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. A collision led to Schuster getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Alex Miccoli hit a great ball. In the 35th minute of the match Gustavo Ramos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto Formaggio skillfully saved the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Dorival Veloso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Formaggio. Schuster's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dorival Veloso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Di Nunzio was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in S.E. Cachoeirinha's zone, Camillo Travaglini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betão de Amaral came out of the goal and Camillo Travaglini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Formaggio made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Dorival Veloso sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of S.E. Cachoeirinha booed when Schuster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armin Altobelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Nilmar do Valle got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 73 played minutes S.E. Cachoeirinha got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Garcia. 74 minutes into the match, Schuster's Alex Di Nunzio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Betão de Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Fabiano Ribeiro during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, S.E. Cachoeirinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Schuster's Alex Miccoli tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Schuster defense, Víktor Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Formaggio. The Schuster fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Formaggio should have stopped the shot. S.E. Cachoeirinha's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
