The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Garlic Eaters booed when BK Ugglan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Apelquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kjell Apelquist in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gul Keep prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Shane Barratt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olov Lindgren having to make a save. With a little luck, BK Ugglan's Olov Lindgren got control of the ball when Shane Barratt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Alexander Mattsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BK Ugglan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Mattsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. BK Ugglan's Olov Lindgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save BK Ugglan from getting a goal against them. Shane Barratt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Olov Lindgren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Shane Barratts short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Olov Lindgren to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. BK Ugglan's Alexander Mattsson got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kjell Apelquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gul Keep tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Apelquist in the 24th minute of play forced Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Gul Keep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alexander Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shane Barratt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Olov Lindgren made a huge save. Gez Barber charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gez Barber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Garlic Eaters getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Gez Barber hit a great ball. Gul Keep showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Mattsson in the 33rd minute of the match. With a little luck, BK Ugglan's Olov Lindgren got control of the ball when Shane Barratt tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kjell Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Timmy Strandberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shane Barratt was the one to do the kick off. When Jens-Ove Deckbergh fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BK Ugglan's protests and gave Jens-Ove Deckbergh a yellow card for diving instead. Kjell Apelquist kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Olov Lindgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Tuck in the 57th minute of the match. Olov Lindgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Tuck in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, BK Ugglan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Olof Hääger to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, BK Ugglan's goal looked a bit too open when Shane Barratt came free, but Olov Lindgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Mattsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gul Keep. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Mattsson ran back to his position shaking his head. BK Ugglan's Olov Lindgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Tuck in the 79th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Shane Barratt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olov Lindgren was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Shane Barratt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gul Keep stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kjell Apelquist's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. James Tuck struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Olov Lindgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garlic Eaters. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
