Aaron Maria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting de Gijón. After 21 minutes, Arnulfo Lidon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piratas FC and the Sporting de Gijón players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Piratas FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Lidon. Aaron Maria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Anselmino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Cristian Medina in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Piratas FC's Nestor Illart. When Godofredo Bakar came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Piratas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godofredo Bakar couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Omar Etor hit a great ball. Arnulfo Lidon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Peter Ivarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Piratas FC's Arnulfo Lidon got his second yellow card of the match in the 32nd minute. The referee ordered Arnulfo Lidon off the ground. After 33 played minutes Piratas FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Lidon. After 34 played minutes Wilfredo Etxahun could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 2-0 into the left cross. After 37 minutes, Godofredo Bakar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piratas FC and the Sporting de Gijón players grew even worse after the yellow card. Godofredo Bakar kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Aaron Maria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Anselmino in the 43rd minute of play. Wilfredo Etxahun scored 3-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aaron Maria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilfredo Etxahun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 68th match minute, Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Berdoi to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Omar Etor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aaron Maria. Piratas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Omar Etor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 75 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Etxahun notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Piratas FC's Aaron Maria. Aaron Maria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Piratas FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Godofredo Bakar hit a great ball. Omar Etor got in the 79th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Aaron Maria handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Piratas FC's Eustaquio Maria managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eulalio Soter in the 82 minute of the game. Peter Ivarsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustaquio Maria in the 84th minute. After 85 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Damián Šilha. In the 87th minute, Celedonio Kinsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Maria was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Aaron Maria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Kinsen in the 91st minute of the match. After 96 minutes of play, Sporting de Gijón's Cristian Medina made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Maria was left in no man's land by his defense there!
