An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano de Medeiros in the 37th minute of play forced Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Froylan Chagavia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Fabiano de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froylan Chagavia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Aragua FC's zone, Aquiles Leonidas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Froylan Chagavia came out of the goal and Aquiles Leonidas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atletico Aragua FC's Froylan Chagavia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Leão in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Atletico Aragua FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Erik Harman came free, but Froylan Chagavia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otsoko Queipo to strike the kick off in the second half. Sven-Erik Harman kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The supporters of Flamengo FSCMZ booed when Atletico Aragua FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Froylan Chagavia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Leão in the 94th minute of play. Flamengo FSCMZ were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Atletico Aragua FC to leave the ground with a draw.
