The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Portuguesa's Juninho Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennys Gøl in the 4th minute of play. After some careless play in the Portuguesa defense, Guto Campidelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Eger. The Portuguesa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Eger should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennys Gøl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Portuguesa's Juninho Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Portuguesa from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Portuguesa's Juninho Eger got control of the ball when Guto Campidelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Portuguesa's Juninho Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Portuguesa from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute, Zeca Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Dennys Gøl came free, but Juninho Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Portuguesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. When Dennys Gøl came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennys Gøl couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennys Gøl got free with Juninho Eger in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Augusto de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juninho Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennys Gøl in the 51st minute of the match. Neto Chevillot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Sampaio came free, but Juninho Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidnei Faria's late challenge caught a Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Faria helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Sidnei Faria hit a great ball. If Dennys Gøl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arif Buğra Özilhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Inácio Sampaio's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. When Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Dennys Gøl made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Eger was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Pedro Augusto de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juninho Eger came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Dennys Gøl. But to his dismay, Dennys Gøl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peterson Pancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Eger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
