An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Soffia in the 6th minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vito Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Giuseppe Totti fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's protests and gave Giuseppe Totti a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Piquerez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Soffia in the 12th minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vito Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Piquerez to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Giuseppe Totti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giuseppe Totti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastián Dell´Orto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Totti in the 30th minute of play. Vito Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Peric, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Mazen Vella Bonavita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Sebastián Dell´Orto made a huge save. In the 38th minute of the match CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a corner. Tabalongo AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dário Moreira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tabalongo AFC's Sebastián Dell´Orto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Totti in the 39th minute of play. Giuseppe Totti might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastián Dell´Orto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giuseppe Totti ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamín Casas made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Fernando Piquerez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Tabalongo AFC's Marcos Soffia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vito Vidal. That made the score 0-1 after 58 minutes of play. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Mazen Vella Bonavita sped through Tabalongo AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sebastián Dell´Orto. Vito Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Almendras in the 68th minute of the match. Mazen Vella Bonavita might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastián Dell´Orto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mazen Vella Bonavita ran back to his position shaking his head. Benjamín Casas kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Mazen Vella Bonavita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavio Orden kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Tabalongo AFC's Ubaldo Hormeño got a free kick in the 84th minute. The tension between the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE and the Tabalongo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tabalongo AFC booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Tabalongo AFC had controlled the match.
