Poli Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sliema Dragons FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Jan Kannen got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Sliema Dragons FC's Gabriel Bruno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Sliema Dragons FC from getting a goal against them. Mike Salamone scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robin Wörns, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ian Depasquale struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Robin Wörns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sliema Dragons FC. Robin Wörns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurgen Montalto, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Marc Xuereb kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Poli Timisoara's Robin Wörns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Salamone in the 22nd minute of play. Justin Kulovitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, Sliema Dragons FC's Ryan Grima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin Wörns made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Robin Wörns didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederick Gatt went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. If Julius-Lasse Eichenauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julius-Lasse Eichenauer to strike the kick off in the second half. Ian Depasquale took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robin Wörns. Robin Wörns dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 67th minute Mike Salamone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Wörns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Wörns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ian Depasquale in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niclas Hillerzeder in the 85th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Bruno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Poli Timisoara got a corner. Sliema Dragons FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Julius-Lasse Eichenauer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Robin Wörns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ian Depasquale in the 91st minute. The Sliema Dragons FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
