The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Santa Maradona's Uriel Belmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Maia in the 16th minute of play. Dan Gheară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Perfecto in the 21st minute of play. Federico Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Belmiro having to interfere. Dan Gheară took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Guillerme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Gheară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Perfecto, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Iago Aspas kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Roberto Boniel took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dan Gheară. Dan Gheară dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Dan Gheară was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Santana in the 47th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Dan Gheară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patrick Fontenot made a kick off. Dan Gheară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The referee ignored Santa Maradona's protests and gave Julian Niguel a yellow card for diving instead. When Harvey Flynn came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Cosmos Soccer Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harvey Flynn couldn't finish the play. In the 68thth minute of the game Patrick Fontenot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Maradona's Uriel Belmiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Patrick Fontenot got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Santana in the 80th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Dan Gheară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Nicky Cavazos. After some careless play in the Santa Maradona defense, Federico Maia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uriel Belmiro. The Santa Maradona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uriel Belmiro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Patrick Fontenot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosmos Soccer Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Fontenot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uriel Belmiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santa Maradona's Uriel Belmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Fontenot in the 92nd minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
