After some careless play in the Karen FC defense, Stuart Greenfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ma Yong Jun. The Karen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ma Yong Jun should have stopped the shot. When Folke Wennerqvist fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karen FC's protests and gave Folke Wennerqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Folke Wennerqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Leicester Foxes Academy's Stuart Greenfield got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dean Niven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Karen FC's 梅荣光 threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chrisostomos Grimsø, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Leicester Foxes Academy's Stuart Greenfield got a free kick in the 29th minute. The attack was good, but when Dean Niven in the 36th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ma Yong Jun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathan Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven-Olof Dahlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Ma Yong Jun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stuart Greenfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
