Pierre Maston charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierre Maston the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pierre Maston hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Manchester City's Jim Sutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaw Wicherek in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierre Maston in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Saul Osoitz saved LegionArgentina from getting behind. When LegionArgentina's Marcos Herrera in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Manchester City's goalie prevented a goal. Jim Sutton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaw Wicherek in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the game, György Kósa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LegionArgentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick. In the 16th match minute, LegionArgentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by György Kósa to maneuver through the defense. After 20th play minutes György Kósa shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Jim Sutton and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when György Kósa got free with Jim Sutton in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manchester City's Jim Sutton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester City from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Manchester City's Jim Sutton got control of the ball when Marcos Herrera tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Herrera in the 32nd minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Jim Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manchester City's Jim Sutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaw Wicherek in the 33rd minute of play. Saul Osoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Maston in the 35th minute of the match. Jim Sutton made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when György Kósa sent off a good shot on target. LegionArgentina's Saul Osoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Maston in the 38th minute of play. After 39 played minutes LegionArgentina got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Gartzen. Saul Osoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Maston, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a rather tough play, LegionArgentina's Nicolas Sayvion got a free kick in the 44th minute. Manchester City's Pierre Swinscoe couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 45th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for LegionArgentina. György Kósa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Sutton having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pierre Maston made a kick off. Rigoberto Lucero kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Manchester City defense, Froilan Arnas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jim Sutton. The Manchester City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jim Sutton should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the match, LegionArgentina's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Maston came free, but Saul Osoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, György Kósa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jim Sutton. Manchester City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that György Kósa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Manchester City's Pierre Maston in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LegionArgentina's goalie prevented a goal. In the 71st minute, Pierre Maston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Pierre Maston broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 75th minute, Pierre Maston left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manchester City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 82nd minute, Gustaw Wicherek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Sutton was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. György Kósa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Sutton having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Pierre Swinscoe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 90th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Swinscoe to maneuver through the defense. After 92 minutes of play, LegionArgentina's Gustaw Wicherek made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jim Sutton was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by György Kósa in the 95th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Jim Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute LegionArgentina were awarded a corner. Generoso Gau went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led LegionArgentina's Generoso Gau to fire away a dangerous shot which Jim Sutton despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Manchester City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for LegionArgentina.
