Artemio Jaunti kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Damazy Prosowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Germano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeusz Pionek went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Tadeusz Pionek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Powiśle Warszawa's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeusz Pionek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Germano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Germano should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Edgard Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marian Galaska was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 85th minute of the match Club Atlético Atlanta got a corner. Powiśle Warszawa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eustaquio Jaizki ran over to the corner to take the kick.
