An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentin Gougeon in the 11th minute of play forced CSD Concepción's goalkeeper Tiro Bolas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mario Flores ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of CSD Concepción booed when Valencia C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Logan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Mario Flores notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Valencia C.F.'s Andoni Zubizarreta. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Germán Cano made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Germán Cano got free with Andoni Zubizarreta in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the game, Don Patron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The CSD Concepción fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiro Bolas should have stopped the shot. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSD Concepción's goalkeeper Tiro Bolas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. CSD Concepción's Tiro Bolas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentin Gougeon in the 87th minute of play. With a little luck, Valencia C.F.'s Andoni Zubizarreta got control of the ball when Victoriano Sierra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, CSD Concepción's Victoriano Sierra made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andoni Zubizarreta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Valencia C.F.'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
