With a little luck, Cosa nostra Lyon's Joey Costa got control of the ball when Fernando Bento tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 3 played minutes SLB TELHA got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Sales. José Loussouarn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Espinosa having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Fernando Bento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joey Costa. Cosa nostra Lyon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Bento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, SLB TELHA's goal looked a bit too open when José Loussouarn came free, but Joaquim Espinosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Lopes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 20 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in SLB TELHA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Cosa nostra Lyon a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Steven Lebreton, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SLB TELHA's Joaquim Espinosa. 1-1. In the 28th minute, José Loussouarn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute Fernando Bento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Loussouarn got a throw-in 32 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nelson Singer. When Steven Lebreton came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Cosa nostra Lyon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven Lebreton couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the game, Fernando Bento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SLB TELHA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosa nostra Lyon the free kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mario Vignal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Steven Lebreton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Joaquim Espinosa made a huge save. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when SLB TELHA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Sales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Bento kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 86th minute of the match, José Loussouarn tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquim Espinosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 93rd match minute, Cosa nostra Lyon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Floquet to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Fernando Bento made a precise shot to the right of Joey Costa. Cosa nostra Lyon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Cosa nostra Lyon's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
