Eddy Llewellyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Micheal Leach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Hegg in the 19th minute of play. Bengt-Åke Smitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ash Harding, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Sven-Olof Dahlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karen FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bengt-Åke Smitt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Russ Trueman's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Eddy Llewellyn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38thth minute of the game Ash Harding who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Karen FC's Bengt-Åke Smitt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Donald Marshall got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Sven-Olof Dahlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Olof Dahlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Donald Marshall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After the first half Karen FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Eddy Llewellyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valencia C.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Eddy Llewellyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt-Åke Smitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Karen FC defense, Ash Harding kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt-Åke Smitt. The Karen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt-Åke Smitt should have stopped the shot. Bror Ahlfors struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Micheal Leach didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karen FC. After 63 played minutes Karen FC got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Olof Dahlberg. Bengt-Åke Smitt came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Valencia C.F.'s Russ Trueman. But to his dismay, Russ Trueman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sven-Olof Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Karen FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Björn Söderström hit a great ball. Valencia C.F. were furious when Daniel Lilley was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Micheal Leach went to the wrong direction when Linus Brovall was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. A collision led to Karen FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Bror Ahlfors hit a great ball. Bengt-Åke Smitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Russ Trueman in the 97th minute of play. 99 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Micheal Leach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Hegg. Karen FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Valencia C.F. had won, even though Karen FC had held more of the ball.
