The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcos Udalaitz came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Santos da Bahia Fc's Lisa Simpson. But to his dismay, Lisa Simpson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Santos da Bahia Fc getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. André Albuquerque hit a great ball. Dinei Lara lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Jacinto Aparecido had in the 14thth minute some difficulties stopping Paulino Jaunti's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alfonzo F.C.'s zone, Valdemar Pena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Udalaitz came out of the goal and Valdemar Pena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Siro Naelio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jacinto Aparecido. The goal made the score 1-1. Marcos Udalaitz came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena. But to his dismay, Valdemar Pena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Marcos Udalaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Udalaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lisa Simpson in the 34th minute of the match. Marcos Udalaitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdemar Pena went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Alfonzo F.C. defense, Valdemar Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Udalaitz. The Alfonzo F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Udalaitz should have stopped the shot. After 42 played minutes Santos da Bahia Fc got a freekick which was hit by Lisa Simpson. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Paulo Teixeira in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Udalaitz saved Alfonzo F.C. from getting behind. After 46 minutes Alfonzo F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valdemar Pena who took care of the corner kick.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adilson Mazza was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Ian de Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos da Bahia Fc and the Alfonzo F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ian de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Paulino Jaunti was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Adilson Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th match minute, Alfonzo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Pacifico to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Albuquerque during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfonzo F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Valdemar Pena scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Udalaitz, making the score, 1-6. Siro Naelio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Aparecido having to make a save. 70 minutes into the match, Alfonzo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Linares came free, but Marcos Udalaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Udalaitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 76th match minute, Alfonzo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melquiades Leguizamón to maneuver through the defense. Víktor Antunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Marcos Udalaitz made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Santos da Bahia Fc's Luís Paulo Teixeira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Udalaitz. That made the score 1-7 after 79 minutes of play. Alfonzo F.C.'s Marcos Udalaitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar Pena in the 83rd minute of play. Víktor Antunes's late challenge caught a Alfonzo F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Víktor Antunes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th match minute, Santos da Bahia Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Antunes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Albuquerque in the 87th minute of play forced Alfonzo F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcos Udalaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alfonzo F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Marcos Udalaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdemar Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Udalaitz having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Santos da Bahia Fc's Luís Paulo Teixeira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Udalaitz. Marcos Udalaitz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. When the final whistle sounded Santos da Bahia Fc left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Alfonzo F.C..
