Spectators: 7511 (Terracing: 5634, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gláuber Vander got the match started through his kick off. After 2 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Xuaco Otero. Manolo Ucero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Vander in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Remedios SC's goalkeeper Bernardo da Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benat Castelao. Gaston Delgado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo da Rocha having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Moraes in the 13th minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Manolo Ucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Xuaco Otero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo da Rocha. Remedios SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xuaco Otero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xuaco Otero got free with Bernardo da Rocha in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Evaristo Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Remedios SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Ferraz couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Remedios SC got a freekick which was hit by Frank da Mata. After 37 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Delgado. 41 minutes into the match, Remedios SC's Gláuber Vander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manolo Ucero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in PERSPOLIS's zone, Gláuber Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manolo Ucero came out of the goal and Gláuber Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Xuaco Otero made the kick off in the second half. Agnaldo Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. When Maurino Acedo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the PERSPOLIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurino Acedo couldn't finish the play. Benat Castelao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo da Rocha having to interfere. Bernardo da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xuaco Otero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xuaco Otero took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo da Rocha. Bernardo da Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 68 minutes of play, PERSPOLIS's Benat Castelao made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo da Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! When PERSPOLIS's Xuaco Otero in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Remedios SC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when Remedios SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Gaston Delgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo da Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 82nd minute, Remedios SC's Valdomiro Moraes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manolo Ucero. Manolo Ucero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. 90 minutes into the game, Xuaco Otero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Bernardo da Rocha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bernardo da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xuaco Otero in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Xuaco Otero notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Remedios SC's Bernardo da Rocha. Bernardo da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the PERSPOLIS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
