In the 11th minute, Zeca Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Eusébio Carmo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Luís Fábio Bittencourt to make any attempt to save it. In the 28th minute, Diogo Caiado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Bacardi Black Bats's Juvenal Novais slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luís Fábio Bittencourt. That made the score 3-0 after 32 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Nando Coutinho got a free kick in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Bacardi Black Bats's Diogo Caiado got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Bacardi Black Bats getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Lourenço lacerda hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Juvenal Novais made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço lacerda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's zone, Virgílio Lisboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Bittencourt came out of the goal and Virgílio Lisboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mateus Peralta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Bacardi Black Bats's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Zeca Peres scored to the left of an out of position Mateus Peralta, making the score, 3-1. Juvenal Novais kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Bittencourt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio Carmo went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's attentive Erivaldo Magalhães managed to snatch the ball when Domingos Vidigal made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Caiado, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. A collision led to E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Zeca Peres hit a great ball. In the 94th minute of the match Lucílio Aveiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luís Fábio Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal Novais, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. In the 95thth minute of the game Juvenal Novais who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C. RIO DE JANEIRO's Luís Fábio Bittencourt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Bacardi Black Bats players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
