American Airlines's Tod Werner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Dionísio in the 10th minute of play. American Airlines's Oscar Bruner got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tod Werner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Didi Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Didi Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Tod Werner made a huge save. Aurelio Lawrence kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Cauan do Nascimento's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tod Werner firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 26th minute of the match, Didi Dionísio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tod Werner saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Agnaldo Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tod Werner, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Abelardo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauan do Nascimento scored 1-0 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tod Werner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cauan do Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Tod Werner made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Colby Sherwood was the one to do the kick off. For all the effort they put into the match, the American Airlines players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
