Valentim Abello made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Victor Hess sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the match, El Pulpo Paceño's goal looked a bit too open when Desmond Rowell came free, but Valentim Abello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darryl Pollard charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darryl Pollard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Darryl Pollard got a free kick in the 28th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Hess stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Hess in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentim Abello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tyron Sheffield in the 52nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Tyron Sheffield got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Valentim Abello quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 55th minute, Victor Hess ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentim Abello was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 58 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Pollard. The supporters of El Pulpo Paceño booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamar Maxwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, El Pulpo Paceño's Txurio Abecia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rusty Little narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Valentim Abello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Hess in the 66th minute of play. Venerando Abaurre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rusty Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desmond Rowell took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valentim Abello. Valentim Abello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 76th minute, Xuoco Abellaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, El Pulpo Paceño's goal looked a bit too open when Desmond Rowell came free, but Valentim Abello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desmond Rowell to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Hess in the 81st minute of play forced El Pulpo Paceño's goalkeeper Valentim Abello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Venerando Abaurre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michel Abecia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 93 minutes on the clock, Mogel Abella commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 94th match minute, El Pulpo Paceño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mogel Abella to maneuver through the defense. The Santos FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
