Militros F.C.'s Edvaldo Zanussi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Viviano in the 18th minute of play. Emilio Etxatxu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Edvaldo Zanussi made a huge save. With his leg Edvaldo Zanussi managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Scofield's Emilio Etxatxu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Didi de Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi de Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Militros F.C. getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Didi de Sena hit a great ball. If Emilio Etxatxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 31 minutes on the clock, Domingos Donio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Militros F.C. a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Samuca Recife, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Scofield's Fabian Pello. 0-1. Fabian Pello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Bezerra in the 35th minute of the match. Gerardo Viviano struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Edvaldo Zanussi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scofield. After 41 minutes, Reinaldo Saldanha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Militros F.C. and the Scofield players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Militros F.C.'s Reinaldo Saldanha got a free kick in the 41st minute. Aquilino Tipi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Scofield's Fabian Pello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Saldanha in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Marciano Maore hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Scofield's goalkeeper Fabian Pello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinaldo Saldanha. Edvaldo Zanussi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Viviano in the 69th minute of play. Otávio Veiga's late challenge caught a Scofield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otávio Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. 70 minutes into the game, one of Militros F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Reinaldo Saldanha got his second yellow card in the match during the 75th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 81 minutes into the match, Scofield's Aquilino Tipi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edvaldo Zanussi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edvaldo Zanussi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquilino Tipi in the 84th minute of play.
